MT FUJI at the Aux Dog Theatre by Susan Roden

Mt Fuji

Well I sure have been painting!

Been busy last week and this upcoming week to finish Mt Fuji
on backstage at the Aux Dog Theater in Albuquerque.

I've been set painting with them for the past year on several
productions. Above is the current production for NUNSENSE 2
which will open on the 30th of June.

Will print image of the finished wall before opening or better
yet, come to the opening if you live in the area!

ART BLOCK - skyscape from Susan Roden

ART BLOCK #1
3 1/4" x 2 1/8" wood
pastel wash + acrylic

Seems like I'm not productive here, yet part of my time
has been devoted to these little gems. This is one that
will be traveling to Art-O-Mat, which my art has been
with them since the beginning of the year.

If you haven't ever heard of this organization, you must
check them out! Click on: Art-O-Mat.

It began 20 years ago by an artist Clark Whittington, where
he refurbished an old cigarette machine for a show of his art.
Currently the machines are placed all over the States in
different venues, such as the Smithsonian, Cosmopolitan Hotel,
Whole Foods, art galleries, etc. It costs exactly $5 and the
recipient gets an original piece of art.

Now isn't this cool?!!!

Detail of White Sands - 10" x 10" acrylic by Susan Roden

Detail of White Sands
10" x 10" acrylic on canvas
SOLD!

Playing around with acrylics and attempting to achieve
movement of the imagery as with my pastels. It's very
different layering onto canvas as opposed to sanded paper
and unsure if I like the effect. But I feel it's so important
to try various materials for growth.

So have a sunny day and loose yourself in the clouds!
