It was a clear, sunny afternoon in September 2009, that I was sketching behind the Painted Desert Inn at the Petrified Forest National Park. The view of the Painted Desert was so expansive and thrilling that I decided to take a hike the following day to the floor of the Badlands.
That's so great! I'm hoping to try plein air painting during my next visit to Arizona.
ReplyDeleteThanks Gerald ... but be prepared for all weather changes. At an instance notice a storm would brew and there would be torrid winds while the sun would be blazing. The sun buckled my drawing paper if I wasn't in a shielded spot and was nearly blown over a cliff from the high winds. Was so happy with my feather light easel but that almost went over the cliff too! Reconsider my purchase after that. How do you travel?
