A DAY OF TRAVELING TO THE DEL

SPRING AT THE DEL 10" x 8"w pastel, glass + gold frame   SOLD - PRIVATE COLLECTOR One of my favorite places . . .  Hotel Del Coronado! Recently while walking through the grounds, I discovered several garden beds. They bordered behind the back of the hotel  and tier down to the beach. So now Del is now growing their  own herbs and many varieties of vegetables.  So green!

SPRING HAS SPRUNG!

FLAG, PALMS + A TURRET 6" x 6" pastel museum glass + 12" square gold frame SOLD - PRIVATE COLLECTOR A delightful, petite rendition of Hotel Del's turret.  Iconic yet something we generally take for granted here in San Diego. Amazes me that the image is  so world renowned. And since we're in the middle  of spring break, Coronado's beach is hopping! I know I have been pretty much MIA here in  blogger-land, but had been so wrapped up with  finishing our taxes. And this year the results were  not good, but Uncle Sam is pretty happy. Love  doing my bit with helping the economy!

TURRET AT THE DEL

TURRET AT THE DEL 6 1/2" x 6 1/2" pastel SOLD - PRIVATE COLLECTOR What's the best way to beat the heat? A trip to the beach. And  Hotel del Coronado's back door opens  onto one of the top beaches in the world.  Here is a petite pastel with a view of it's iconic  turret, which was just purchased by a Collector. Happy summer!

TRIP TO THE TURRET

The Hotel del Coronado.  This is a view of it's iconic turret. Previously I posted a painting of the Del  with some interesting facts. Such as murder . Click here to read more.

THE DEL

HOTEL DEL pastel, 10"h x 8"w courtesy of Tirage Fine Art Gallery SOLD - PRIVATE COLLECTOR Today is an exciting week for me with anticipation of a couple of out-of-state / country guests! So wonderful to catch-up with news, share wonderful dinners and just enjoy one and another's company. The excitement is killing me! I just can't pay attention to finish a started petite painting, so decided to post a recently completed pastel in Tirage's possession and available for sale. This painting is a slice of the iconic vacation landmark Hotel del Coronado . Even though the hotel is a conglomeration of several various shaped buildings, it is visibly known for it's red turret which graces the front entrance. The hotel which dates back 120 years, is a beachfront luxury resort as well as a location for motion films, such as Some Like It Hot, that starred Marilyn Monroe and Tony Curtis. There is even rumored a ghost, Kate Morgan, still inhabits the premises. She had...
