Actually this was special for a Pastel Society of New Mexico  video program, with getting members to try a different genre.  So the month of October will be on abstracts.  Pictured below are the first 2 steps in executing this abstract.   The top is the first basic shape that has been washed.  The image at the bottom, is at the mid-point of execution.  All is done in pastel onto UARTS sand paper.

A POCKET OF TEARS 16" x 20" pastel After a month of social distancing, I woke up  this morning to a rainstorm.  The sky is crying!

A PINK RACE 6" x 6" pastel black frame, spacer  glass I'm very pleased that A Pink Race is one of my two pastels that were juried into Randy Higbee Gallery' s 10th Annual 6" Squared Exhibition and Sale !  I was in the gallery's very first exhibit back in 2009 and since  living in San Diego at that time, was able to go in person to  see the exhibit. Wonderful range of art, so fortunate I'm  participating once again! All art will be for sale and they make great holiday gifts! And so little time, but ever so thankful! Above floral Shadows + Reds will be on exhibit at the Pastel Society of New Mexico's Signature Members' Show which will run from October 6th to November 10th at the Los Lunas Museum of Heritage and Art. Always such a honor to be  recognized as a Distinguished and Signature Member of this  society! Rock on . . . . !

FORGOTTEN TRACKS  10" x 8" pastel black mat, glass + frame SOLD - Private Collector Love this little scene!  Such a cozy and and ethereal evening. The setting is a tiny abandoned house in Santa Fe  along the Railyards, yet these tracks are not functional.  And this petite pastel has now gone onto a wonderful home!  Thank you Tish!
