ZOE  pastel sketch Christmas was a kick   and so enjoyed the short visit  with my family! Did a mad dash to Albuquerque with  an extra stop on the way and on the return to visit friends. During the drive, worked away on upcoming class  projects. Amazing what one can accomplish!  But knew I needed to get some figurative poses  together, so corralled my daughter and 2  granddaughters to work. Above, Zoe , is a sample for my one-day pastel portrait  workshop to be held at the San Diego Museum of Fine  Art on Saturday,January 12th.   Wondering what she's gazing at?

Party time! These 2 little delectable morsels are now sitting pretty at a school jamboree auction. Firmly believing  in giving back to the community and what better  way than with sweet treats?  (Psst . . .  Zoe a check is in the mail for you!)  A good friend, who is the art teacher at Holy Trinity  School in El Cajon, CA and has followed my blog, had her  students create little cupcake paintings as one of their school  projects. I received images of the little masterpieces - which I  promise will post tomorrow! And who knows the best way to play?  Kids!  So I created a Kids Korner where the little ones have been  so gracious to lend their artwork as backdrops to the cupcakes.  Of course I had to do some bribing with cupcakes,  but hey. . . all is fair and art and cupcakes.
