SUSAN'S . . . PLAYING AGAIN!

JACK 14" x 11" pastel This is the second piece that I created for Saving Slim's  Foundation's Fundraiser. Unfortunately I never met  Jack  before his death,  but hope someone sees the beauty and purchases the painting. All proceeds will go to the Saving Slim  Foundation , a non-profit that rescues pit bulls. I do have to say that all the photo sources I viewed,  could detect the abuse and hurt in the dogs eyes. Sad . . .

DEXTER 8" x 9" pastel Now isn't this a cute fellow? A good friend of mine has a pit bull rescue and does tremendous  work saving abused pits.  The non-profit, The Saving Slim Foundation , is having a fundraising  event and I created DEXTER for the event's auction on Thursday, September 19th. Not only is there a lake, but hiking  trails as above.  And I hate to say, that I was so lost in my thoughts while driving, that I got a ticket for not coming to a complete stop. . .  bummer !

THE UMBRELLA, A MONK + FLOWER FIELD 18" x 14" pastel Time for a diversion from skaters. So let's have a return visit to the Flower Fields  in Carlsbad. It was a sunny day and warm. I spied these happy little group!

Last Saturday was the opening reception for AIR + WOOD and you can see from this picture I'm having a grand time!  What a range of people attended the show from art  enthusiasts to skaters. Had some drop by the shop today  to check it out as well. The closing reception is Saturday, September 14th  from 6 - 9:30, so still a chance to catch it.  Thanks one and all!

Was early morning when I shot the images, so pretty light, but at least you get an idea of the reconstructed pallet frames. The reception is tonight and can't wait to celebrate! BLUE SKY AT SPRECKELS 20" x 16" pastel on sanded pastel board The painting pictured is included within "15 MINUTES OF FAME",  an installation by Lauren Carrera and Prudence Horne at the  San Diego Museum of Art this Saturday. Working with Roland Petersen's painting The Shaded Figure and  Andy Warhol's Flowers , 30 San Diego painters will be showcasing  their individual art seated in a garden setting at the Museum. Andy Warhol is noted for stating that "in the future everyone will have  their 15 minutes of fame", so the installation allots 15 minutes to each. I'm slated for Saturday, August 3rd at 10:40 am.  If you're at Balboa Park, please come see me. What a wonderful invitation!
