PUCKER TIME FOR THE THROWDOWN

LUSCIOUS LIME
4 1/2" x 4 1/2" pastel
8" square archival white matte, glass + scrolled gold leaf frame

SOLD - PRIVATE COLLECTOR

If anyone hadn't heard yet, fellow Daily Painter Original Artist Kelley MacDonald and myself are having a donut throwdown. Nothing is flying for we're eating the props,
so I'm happy to report that noone is getting hurt.

But oh.... it's a cupcake!
Sorry Kelley, but Panchita's donuts are so huge
that I can hardly walk anymore. (Nothing like a donut from the 'hood!)
So this petite divine cupcake is from Heavenly Desserts and was a tart lime cupcake with dips, folds, and swirls of frosting that just melted in the mouth.

  1. Still laughing at the title...so funny! Love all that color. The turquoise icing is so great.
Meant to get by and comment on your heavenly Chocolate Donut too. I know that one didn't last long! Really great job on both!

  2. Susan... I may like to paint donuts, but I get weak in the KNEES about cupcakes. I think they should be our national food. You're killing me. Frosting.... mmmmmmm frosting! And LIME? Who'd think of that?

  4. Beautiful, Susan! I know how tough it can be to paint those cupcakes. You have done a lovely job here with the purples and greens. I so admire your pastel work...it may inspire me to dig mine out of the closet!

  5. Go girls! Nothing like trying your hand with pastels amidst chewing a donut here and there. But.... you have to be so very careful not to get the frosting onto your artwork. Perils of an artist.

Thanks so much for the comments and please help Kelley - she's weak in the knees and just may fall down.

  7. Mmmm...this is a luscious painting! Love the colors and rhythm. I've been wanting to paint goodies but don't want to put temptation in my face...or into my mouth...maybe someday...Thanks so much for your recent comments on my paintings...
