REDSTONE - LAKE MEAD
6" x 6" pastel
8" x 8" gold leaf frame + glass
SOLD - PRIVATE COLLECTOR
I'm gearing up to visit Albuquerque in a couple of weeks.
Will be a great time of family, friends and fun!
So here's a little scene of redrocks for a little Southwest ambience.
Now there are a lot in New Mexico, but forgive me for this little
path is at Lake Mead Recreational Area in Nevada.
I have posted about Lake Mead previously, which you
can click here and view one of my entries. The National Park
covers a huge area - actually between 2 states - and extreme
differences in topography.
So I'm off now to daydream of my trip. Have a great day!
Susan....a wonderful piece today!!! Lovely.
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful colors. Wonderful painting! I love that part of the Country!!
ReplyDeleteI love Lake Mead. Between it and Red Rock Canyon there are plenty of places to do some serious plein air painting. Now all I have to do is get on down to the workshop with Michael Chelsey Johnson in a couple of weeks to have him show me how to paint plein air.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, Dave Lake Mead is one of my favorite places! Have you been to Katherine Landing and Cotton Grove? More obscure and less traffic than Boulder Beach.
color as delectible as one of your sweets! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteMy sister and I went swimming in Lake Mead once, lovely place. Oh, and this painting is ever so vibrant and shimmering with color, love it!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Mary and Diane.
ReplyDeleteDid you camp at Boulder Beach too Diane?
Heh, we didn't actually plan it... It was sort of a spur of the moment park, change into swimsuits in the (rental) car, swim and then drive back to LA. (: This was after a quickie trip to Vegas, ah, fun memory.
